The Level 2 Standards Qualification is the main starting point for a long lasting career in the hairdressing industry.

Level 2 qualifications introduce learners to the basics, were you build your skills  in client consultation, shampooing, blow drying, colouring and cutting in hairdressing. Cutting, shaving and detailing for Barbers. You will be trained to the point where you will present finished looks to achieve End Point Assessment (hopefully to distinction!) .There are additional optional units for hairdressers in perming and basic extension work too! 

The aim qualification (hairdressing only) is a Level 3 qualification this is where you develop your skills to the advanced Level, allowing your career to flourish. The qualification includes advanced level skills development in creatively cut hair, colouring, lighten and colour correction.

Our Level 2 qualification is the main starting point for a long lasting career in the hairdressing industry.

This qualification introduces learners to the basics of client consultations, shampooing, blow drying colouring, cutting, perming and presenting a finished look. Our Level 3 qualification is where you learn your advanced skills in hairdressing to allow your career to flourish.The qualification includes teaching you to creatively cut hair, colour and lighten, colour correct and an introduction to extensions.

Hairdressing – level 2

The start of your hairdressing journey? The full Apprenticeship qualification is made up of 2 key elements:

• Level 2 Hair Professional (Hairdressing) 

• English and maths (Level 1 minimum) in a Hairdressing context 

You will develop your skills in the workplace as an employee, attending ‘off the job’ training for at least 20% of your working week.

The main aim qualification is Level 3 but upon achievement of your Level 2 Qualification, you will have the foundation skills to rise up in hairdressing career.

Hair Professional (hairdressing) Level 2

Programme duration is between 16 - 24 months. You will develop skills in the following units at your own pace as an employed apprentice. 

Consultation / Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and Scalp / Cut hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks / Style and finish hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks / Colour and lighten hair using a range of techniques (Additional optional units Perming hair and Hair extension services may be taken if desired)

Apprentices develop transferable life skills; self-management, relationship-building with clients, working and managing the workplace supporting self-directed learning.

Hairdressing – level 3

Taking your skills further? The full Advanced Apprenticeship qualification is made up of 2 key elements:

• Level 3 Creative and advanced Hair Professional 

• English and maths (Level 2 minimum) in a Hairdressing context 

Continuing in the development of your skills at an advanced creative level, your 20% ‘off the job’ training will be in the direction you need to bring your skills to a higher level. You will be supported by highly qualified and specialist staff to guide you (as well further opportunities in the workplace)

Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3

Programme duration is between 14 - 19 months. Developing advanced level techniques and skills in the following units.

As an employed apprentice you learn at your pace. 
Provide client consultation services / Advanced and creative cutting services / Creative fashion styling and finishing services / Provide smoothing and strengthening services / Advanced and creative colour services / Use fashion forward trends in hair, creative and precision techniques to create a collection of hairstyle looks

This is a new qualification released 1st August 2020. Advanced Apprentices grow their transferable life skills; self-management, growing and extending a client base, development of  managing skills and working effectively in a team.
